Nameless first made its appearance at the winery at a special
release party during Barrel Tasting in February of 2005. The wine
started as an experimental blend that Vince created, combining
Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. As customers visited
the winery during its creation, Vince often took them back and let
them sample a wine that he hadn’t named yet----it was often
referred to as “Winery Red” or “that no-name wine”, plus many other
creative suggestions too numerous to mention! However, “Nameless”
stuck and a new blend was born!
With a deep garnet color, this beautiful wine was aged mostly in
just over 50% new French Oak barrels. It has a developed structure
and delicious flavors of sweet cherries, red currents, freshly
grated nutmeg and hints of dried meat. The finish is smooth with a
kick of tannins to remind us of the wine’s Napa Valley roots. Its
vibrant flavors are very enjoyable right now, or, if you can
exercise your willpower, you will be rewarded 3-5 years from now
with a velvety smooth Bordeaux blend.
