Entrada is a
blend of our Greenwood Ranch Syrah, Greenwood Ranch Cabernet
Sauvignon and our Rattlesnake Acre Petite Sirah. The components of
our Entrada are vinified separately. The Syrah juice often
undergoes saignée for concentration and the fermentation is cool to
allow for maximum fruit integration and tannin development. The
Petite Sirah that goes into the blend is aged in American oak and
the Syrah and Cabernet are aged in French oak. The blend is created
in January, eight months before bottling. The wine is massive, but
approachable now in its youth. However, the perfect balance of
fruit, tannic structure and lingering finish is expected in four to
six years.
